Craig McDean for CFDA Nominees

The industry’s most prestigious night, the Oscar’s of fashion, is upon us yet again. The CFDA Fashion awards take place Monday June 4th and will air on Style.com at 12 noon the next day.  In preparation for the big night Crag McDean shot the nominee’s portraits, in ways that will distract you from the fact that they are the industry’s all powerful.

Last season, it was the fabulous minds behind Olsen Twin’s The Row who made the move to pair black on top and brown on bottom to give the eye ultimate lift and now this trend has moved onto the runway, being instrumental in Derek Lam’s “Twisted Doll” look for his Fall 2012 runway vision.

Two 4 One – Vogue’s Best Dressed

Vogues’s annual “Best Dressed” issue for 2011 is soon to be on stands and we can’t wait to see who made the list! This years theme was “Dynamic Duo” and the fashion bible featured sisters – so, not just one fabulous wardrobe but two!

This years sister act went to Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen – the ‘Twinning’ duo who are the creative minds behind The Row. Congrats to the sisters as this is the first Vogue cover!

The list, which was available on Vogue.com to be voted on, is as follows:

However, don’t thing that our fashion favorites without sisters or siblings were left out! The issue, soon on stands, also features Emma Stone, Kate Moss and (we are questions but accept) Kristen Stewart.

School Tuition or School Backback?

Yes, this really happened. The $39,000 alligator backpack designed by the Olsen twins is officially out of stock. It was reportedly “flying off the shelves” and was the first item in The Row’s latest collection to sell out. How is this even possible? Even Anderson Cooper, who was raised by a fashion designer,  added it to his “Rediculist” mentioning that the backpack was coincidently a teacher’s average salary.

You wanna spend a couple G’s on a purse, thats fine, we’ll accept it. But $39,000? Don’t get us wrong, we love Mary-kate, Ashley, The Row, and even the bag, but we’re genuinely confused about how this is even possible.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Launch a Line of Handbags for The Row

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen recently celebrated the launch of their new handbag collection for The Row which will arrive at Barneys mid-August.

The collection consists of nine diverse styles including a lizard clutch and a crocodile backpack with prices ranging from $2,350 to $39,000.

Mary-Kate spoke of the collection saying, “we didn’t want too much branding; we didn’t want an It bag.”
