A New Treasure – Pomellato

We’ve got a new found obsession for the Milanese jewelry house Pomellato and their latest collection Pomellato ’67 – one, because it is being released this month exclusively to only 20 Saks nationwide and two, one of them is Boston! We’re always excited when new brands come in to Boston, especially this one because it’s a whole new venture – they’ve never done a silver line until now.

Under the creative direction of Sergio Silvestris and the hand-craftsmanship of the Pomellato artisans they’ve presented a collection that has a feminine rock feel. There really is something enticingly sexy about the entire line and we could definitely see any of these pieces decorating “it-girls” all over the world.  The prices range from $395-$4640 so we think it will be an investment that you’ll love.

We’ll keep you updated on the Saks release but view the entire collection here for now.

Lola’s Goes Mobile

You remember that awesome Allston gem, Lola’s Urban Vintage. It sat on Harvard Ave… right across from Buffalo. Yeah, that one, you remember.  Well there’s been a massive change that we’re amped about.  The storefront has shut down but voila -  a new venture… Lola’s Urban Vintage on wheels! If you’ve been looking for some great Boston vintage mixed with handmade contemporary pieces you’ve just found gold.

We chatted a bit with shop owner, Nicoletta about the change.

Fashion Trucks are the new “it” thing, what gives?
Well, first of all the price of rent in the city is very hard to keep up with for an independent retailer.  Also it is more fun and unexpected to shop in a truck.
What inspired the change?
Lola’s is always moving forward with the time and trends.  This opportunity came as a perfect opportunity and I jumped on it!
What kind of impact do you think this will have?
I think it will open peoples minds to a new way of shopping.  I also believe it will expose people to unique fashion, since I will be able to come to the customer.
And we’ll see you where?
I will always be around Boston.  I plan on hitting New England Cities, as well as NYC and possibly Montreal and Florida.

Lola’s Urban Vintage… on wheels will make the big reveal at Sowa Open Market tomorrow Sunday, September 2. Like the shop on Facebook and check back in a few weeks when Nicoletta joins us in the factory!

Bet you want to see inside.

GANT Calls Boston Home

Oh hey GANT, welcome to Boston!

If you haven’t noticed, that sweet little storefront across from Sonsie that used to be Steve Madden (they’re further down the street now but still open) is now home to the clothing store GANT.  This is their first New England store and we’re stoked that they chose Boston.

The designer, Michael Bastian actually went to school in Boston and based the FW12 collection on his memories of living here. Inspired by close friends, and the unique style of the mid ’80s, the collection has a little bit of everything: classic preppy, sports utility and the MOD revival that was happening at the time.

Check out the video. Bet you’ll recognize a few places, especially South Street Diner. We’ve all had our fair share of 3am visits there.

Shopping Saturdays: The Boston Bazaar Shop is a Go

Yes, we are going to absolutely take some time out to plug our shop.  We’re opening our first ever pop-up shop tomorrow in Springfield, MA and we’re having a massive Grand Opening sale BUT no need to fret because that same exact sale will be available online. It starts at noon with 30% off your entire purchase and dwindles down to 10% around 4.  If you are somehow far too busy on a Sunday to make it to the site (or shop!) by 4pm, no worries – we’ll be throwing codes around our Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, and blog for you to still snag some sweet deals.

Check out the pop-up shop at the Eastfield Mall in Springfield or shop online at Shop.TheBostonBazaar.com!

We’ve Got Our Eye on Designer Circus

Our morning consists of scrolling through press releases and blog tips to find some of our favorites for the day…and of course, perusing the interweb to find out everything we may have missed in the world whilst sleeping in Boston.  We were actually enraged yesterday when we found out about the Made Her Think sale in New York with Swarovski crystal set rings flying for $10-$15,  leather bags starting at $20, and a bowl of $5 rings… all by Meredith Kahn. No fair!

Well, this morning we just learned about Designer Circus and their “Summer Shopping Days” where they will be offering their favorite designer collections at wholesale prices. Say what! Thats 50%-90% below retail prices. We can dig it.

Now, we don’t know what designers they have waiting for us behind those doors… but you’re bound to find something you like. And at up to 90% off retail price you better.

The madness begins June 16th

Saturdays            10 am – 6 pm         June 16, 23, 30
                                                                July 7, 14, 21, 28
                                                                August 4

Wednesdays        11 am – 9pm*        June 20, 27
                                                                July 11, 18, 26
                                                                August 1, 8

At: 1 Braintree Street in Allston.

We have high expectations. Especially since Lola’s Urban Vintage has left Allston, we need another Allston fix to relieve our wallets.

Louis Exposure Does it Again

Louis Exposure is back at Louis Boston and we’re amped!  Last year we fell in love with Jonathan Simkhai, who even inspired a few “Looks of the Day” and we’re excited to learn about all of the talent that will be making its way through our favorite Waterfront stop.

To start the whole shebang off, New York based jewelry designer Meredith Kahn and clothing designer Victoria Dominguez-Bagu will be on display in the shop this Friday, October 20th.  So check it out and let us know what you think!

All Saints Boston

You’ve probably passed by it a couple times and did not notice but All Saints is in Boston…right on Newbury Street and its fully loaded.  With new shippments almost daily this store is proving to satisfy all of your guilty fashion pleasures.  In all honesty, the best part of the whole get up is the kiddies sections.  Little leather jackets for the boys and little leather boots to match mommy’s for the girls.  Cutest thing I’ve ever seen.  Check them out.  Pay a visit…
