Iggy Azalea new video “Slo” slowing down her career?

Our favorite female Aussie rapper has recently released the video for her new single Slo. We are still obsessed with “My World” and “Work” and were pretty surprised when we heard this much slower track. We’re used to fast, catchy background music and super bright outfits, and we got the exact opposite from this video. It’s done in back and white and the first time we really hear Iggy focus on relationship issues. Is this lane change slowing down her career? Not a chance! Fans and critics alike love the new jam and are itching for more music!

We’re actually glad she didn’t accept Kanye West’s offer to join his up and coming music label – she would’ve been just another industry robot. We like her like this – real and uncensored. Check out Slo below and let us know what you think!

Hanson – Get The Girl Back

Seriously, nothing appeased our teenage girl angst better than Hanson. And it’s so strange that we’ve alluded to Hanson a few times in the Tosser office these past couple of months. Maybe its all this 90s nostalgia but we dropped everything when we heard that Hanson is back! With a new single, a performance on Jay Leno April 9th and a new album dropping June 18th. Is this real life! The video features Kat Dennings and Twilight’s Nikki Reed and we’ve got to hand it to them… these gents grew up quite nicely. Gahh, HANSON!

What We’re Listening To – A Walk

Ease your way into summer with simplistic alluring vibes. It is time to switch over your winter playlist to your summer playlist because music definitely has a great impact on moods. As flowers bloom, everything tends to be looking more on the bright side. There is no room for dark music when the sun in shining bright and the weather is fascinatingly warm. Tycho definitely knows how to tranquilize the mind. “A Walk”, which is a throwback from 2011, is almost like the definition of life without words; a guidance through happiness and perpetual ecstasy. It is a tone that allows you to take a moment and really let yourself breathe while at the same time begin to feel at ease. Just picture yourself running through an open field with captivating rays, surrounded by warmth and harmony. We dig this track and have it on repeat to troll our minds directly to summer. Thanks Tycho for dropping a little piece of heaven into our ears!

What We’re Listening To – Angels

Seriously… there’s just something about The XX that can create pure happiness from the pit of our guts. You know, that feeling you get when nostalgia hits you. Or something takes you back to the happiest day of your childhood. OR even that moment when you can see your life changing for the better. Yeah, The XX makes us feel all of those emotions. Or maybe it’s because they feel like the sound of summer and we’re just ready for it.

Currently on repeat!

Vote With Aerosmith – Free Concert in Boston

If you live in Boston you pretty much have the voter gene inbred in you.  But just in case you’re one of those who still feels a little unsettled with this years elections I have the perfect way to calm your nerves.  Vote with Aerosmith!

Aerosmith is a Boston band who, like most groups from the area, has been around for as long as I can remember.  Their hits are classic - I mean who could forget the song Jaded! - and their style, well, a representation of true rocker.  But Rock n’ Roll isn’t the only thing this infamous group has on their mind, voting is their thing.

On November 5, the day before the 2012 elections, Aerosmith will be putting on a surprise performance for all of their Beantown loves.

The concert will be in promotion for their new album Music From Another Dimension!, which comes out Tuesday November 6, and to celebrate Election Day.  The group is using the show as a platform to encourage people to go out and vote while still having a good time rockin’ out.

So, where’s this secret concert?  The band will perform right on the street in front of 1325 Commonwealth Ave., their old apartment!  The band will show up some time around noon to blow your mind away.

The concert is free for everyone to enjoy.

Azealia Banks’ 1991: “Press it on Your Dial”

Azealia Banks is one of the hottest new artists. With a gig at Karl Lagerfeld’s house in Paris, a video campaign for T by Alexander Wang, and a Dazed and Confused cover (which was banned in seven countries for its raunchy implications), it’s safe to say that she has also become a new it-girl in the fashion community.  So, the editorial style of Banks’ music videos should come as no surprise.  Her videos for “Liquorice” and “Van Vogue” were both directed by fashion photographer, Rankin. Banks enlisted another fashion photographer for her most recent video, “1991.” Justin Mitchell shot Banks looking like a Parisian 1990′s dream.  The chic production certainly confirms Banks’ status as an emerging fashion icon, while the infectious beat makes the song itself irresistible. We’re looking forward to more hot singles and fashionable features from Azealia Banks, but until then, check out her video for “1991.”

The U.N. Drops “La Naissance de Jezebel”

Yes, indeed, our favorite Boston MCs, The U.N., have actually already dropped their album La Naissance de Jezebel, that we mentioned back in June during our interview with them. You remember.

Well, the album is available for download now but you know you want more than that so you’ll have to add their release party to your calendar. It’s all going down Sunday, September 30th at the Middle East Upstairs, hosted by Lisa Bello and featuring a few guest performances, DJ Real P of the Famous Nobodies, and a mysterious “special guest.”  So, we’ll be there and the first 50 people get a free hard copy of the CD… we’ll be there early.

Get tickets, download the album, and follow them on Facebook.
